September 24: Held by His Hand

Scripture
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

Fear and discouragement are powerful forces, but God’s Word speaks directly to both. To His people Israel, the Lord promised His presence, His strength, and His help. That same promise is echoed throughout the New Testament as Jesus assures us that He will never leave us or forsake us, and as the Holy Spirit fills us with power in our time of need.

Maybe this is exactly the reminder you need today: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.” You are not alone. You are never alone. The God who rescued you in love is the same God who walks with you in your darkest moments. When discouragement whispers that you’re abandoned, God speaks a better word: “I am your God. I will help you.”

This is the heart of a perfect Father. He desires what is best for His children, even when His ways stretch beyond our understanding. Trusting Him means resting in the truth that nothing you face has taken Him by surprise. His strength is steady, His hand is sure, and He will hold you up when you feel like you cannot stand on your own.

So take courage. Lift your eyes from your circumstances and fix them on the One who has promised to carry you. Be hopeful, for the God of hope is with you, and His victorious hand will never let you go.

Reflection
1. Where are you most tempted to let fear or discouragement take hold right now?

2. How does remembering God’s presence with you change the way you face your circumstances?

3. What would it look like to lean on God’s strength instead of your own in this season?

Prayer
Thank God for His constant presence and care. Ask Him to quiet your fears, lift your discouragement, and strengthen you with His victorious hand. Pray for the faith to trust Him fully, even when you don’t understand His ways.
